History of YouTube_Search_view

The like/dislike preview bar is an excellent idea. I have installed the Chrome plugin that displays such a preview on the YouTube search result page and I can't live without it now ! So I'd really like to see the same feature on Ubuntu Mobile.

Apart from views... I think Alex has the information you wanted matthias.

From my perspective three things are more or less important when you decide which video might be the best one. Playtime, view count and likes/dislikes.

I personally use view count and playtime most of the time to determine which video to watch, for instance if I search for a programming tutorial my first criteria is the playtime, I assume that a 20 minutes tutorial is better than one with 2 minute. As a second criteria I would always click the video with a high view count. From my experience there is often a really huge difference how often the video has been watched, example 20.000 against 200 and in that case I assume that the video with the high view count has some kind of quality.

But I agree with Alex/Benjamin that a ratio for likes/dislikes can be useful. My first comment was more about the number of likes/dislikes,

My proposal would be: icon playtime 00:00, icon views 100.000 icon like percentage 00%, I also like the bar to display the like/dislike ratio shown above but I'm not sure how nice and clear that would look in a final layout.

I don't think that you need to know exactly how many likes and dislikes

matthias, I disagree on the likes / dislike. I find so many time when I am browsing videos and am trying to determine which video will best show me what I want to see, the likes / dislikes help me quickly see if one is better than the other.
Also helps sift through when people rip off other videos and they turn up in the search. If the likes / dislikes needed to be smaller, it could just be a like percentage. e.g. 96% thumbs up. This would keep it small and still convey the same basic information (just excluding the magnitude).

I don't think the likes/dislikes are important to show on in the search result list. What I miss is the sort by (upload date, view count ...) feature
