History of File Manager - Directory Icons View

This design doesn’t follow the design guidlines – title on the top.
As in current design for Photo Gallery that the title on top doesn’t show the name of the application (but two sets of Events and Photos), I prefer not to show ldquo;Filesrdquo; on that top but the name of folder (see the image I linked to).

Sorry it’s much easier for me to work with GIMP, and I don’t know how to add my images to the site. So I link to it:

@doctormo: Why is it invalid to drag an item from and to the same folder? You may want to put a file into a subfolder in the same window.

option to hide files, and menu setting to show or hide the hidden files

Networking folders is a must! So many phone OS lack this.

It also seems like that gesture is already used by the phone UI to move to the previous application (or to show the launcher... not sure which what motion you actually have in mind).

I'm not sure how intuative swiping to the right for metadata would be. Wouldn't it be a little more natural to use a long press to spawn a menu of options, among which there is the option to view metadata? It's not like this is something I do with my phone all the time.
