I have concerns
1. The Attendee area "Name Surname" should be able to hve more than one person.
2. The "click to call" assumes that there is one number for a person, they may have work/cell/home maybe instead of the number (which is useless in this day and age) display the "Work cell home skype" icons.
3. Now, get rid of those entries on the bottom. In a multi-attendee event, having th ebottom buttons would require you to have/maintain a selection of a singular contact. It is also clearer to have the buttons with the contact than all the way at the bottom.
4. I am not thrilled at the idea of a sliding bottom menu. I think the menu, particularly close and edit should be at the top. I have an aversion to bottom docked tool bars when the primary action is to scroll down. I think The menu should be at the top, near the title.

I made a few simple changes to the mockup. Did I improve it, or hinder it?

Yes, my mistake. I put contacts at bottom, now contacts can be as much as you want, just scroll down.

fixed

agree, removed bottom bar

But it's ubuntu phone design idea to have swype menus.
I added edit button at top. To go back to day view just press day icon at top left.
